OPERATING POLICY

Dramar Shipping’s management staff is fully capable of handling the full functional requirements that the ship-owning and shipping activities entail. The overall management function, the chartering activities and the vessels technical management encompassing the day-to-day operations, physical maintenance and the crewing will be performed by the experienced managerial staff of the company.

All the vessels that will be acquired by Dramar Shipping either on its own or in joint venture will be fully managed by Dramar Management Team. Dramar Shipping will also ensure that its vessels are properly maintained to the highest standards as required in the shipping industry. In order to facilitate this objective on technological excellence, a fully computerized and electronically integrated Safety Management System (ISM & ISPS) covering all the ship and shore bound technical requirements is adopted to satisfy Dramar Shipping’s current and future requirements. Dramar Shipping operates its ships to ISO9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 standards of Quality and Environmental Assurance.

DRUG & ALCOHOL POLICY

It is the Company’s Policy that no seafarer employed shall navigate the vessel, operate machinery or carry out his duties whilst he is impaired by drugs or alcohol or suspected to be under the impairment of alcohol or drugs. In order to enforce this policy:

  • Consumption and possession of alcohol for private or any other use on board Company vessels are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
  • The possession, use, trafficking of any kind of illegal drugs and for any reason on board the ship are PROHIBITED.
  • The Company implements procedures which meet or exceed the relevant Flag State legislation and enforces a strict blood/breath and/or urine test schedule involving:
    • Mandatory pre-joining drug and alcohol tests for all seafarers.
    • Periodical random testing/screening on board vessels. Each officer is to be tested at least once annually.
    • Regular breathalyzer tests on board, either as a routine control procedure, or during an investigative process.

Seafarers found to be in violation of this Policy shall be immediately released from duty and dismissal / disciplinary action will be taken. Refusal to be subjected to D&A testing would equal to admission of guilt and the person will be subject to the same repercussions as any offender.

Adherence to this Policy is considered as a term of employment.

SAFETY QUALITY & ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS

Dramar Shipping has set up this policy to provide healthy and safe working conditions to ensure prevention of human injury or loss of life and damage to environment, ship and property to maintain a safe and pollution-free operating practice that complies with national and international regulations and relevant standards and guidelines and to ensure Quality of the Operations that each part of function meets the clients requirements leading to sustained customer satisfaction.

The Company manual describes Dramar Shipping’s management system for the Safe Operation of Ships for Quality and Environmental Management.

Its contents have been reviewed and indicate compliance with the requirements of IMO Resolution A741 (18)- The International Safety Management System, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 Quality and Environmental Standards.

INSURANCE & QUALIFICATIONS

The Company had maintained Hull and Machinery Insurance, War Risk Insurance, Protection and Indemnity Insurance, Freight Demurrage and Defense Insurance and Loss of Earnings Insurance for the vessels owned and operated. The insurance cover had been bought constantly in the London’s Lloyds market. For Hull and Machinery Insurance, War Risk Insurance and Loss of Earnings Insurance the Company will again utilize the services of its brokers Messrs. Omni Corporate Solutions Ltd., in London. As for Protection and Indemnity Insurance, Freight Demurrage and Defense Insurance the Company intends to maintain old ties and thus desires to obtain the required insurance from IG Clubs such as UK Mutual P&I or Swedish or West of England Club.

As in the past, the Company’s future vessel (s) will also fully comply with the requirements set by the IACS membered classification societies. The Company always intends to acquire vessels that are judged to be able to comply with all the rules and the requirements of the classification societies.

Dramar Shipping has been awarded the following International Certificates that registered and audited by Class NKK, Nippon Kaiji Kyokai of Japan to operate its vessels.
